We start off our journey at 7.30am at Harbour Front Ferry Terminal, with our breakfast and jitters. (It was Hazel’s birthday by the way!)
Fast forward past 1 hour of choppy waves, 1 hour of queuing at immigration, and 30 mins of choppy roads – we had arrived at Golden View Hotel to drop off our bags. We went to SD004 (SD means primary school), the school which we would be having lessons and building basins in. We used this visit to take accurate measurements of the school, for the piping systems of the 6 basins, following which we headed to our trusty hardware store to gather the suppliers that we would be working with for the next 5-6 days. After returning to the hotel, we met as a team to consolidate the information we had gathered before heading off to dinner. Our last meeting of the day was spent rehearsing our performance piece for the school, the Sun Dance, and were briefed by the Lessons sub-committee on what to expect for lessons we are conducting. By this time, we were so exhausted that we knocked out as soon as we got back to our rooms and showered. Do head over to instagram @rafflesisle for updates on our team.
